Choose one
of your poems. A good one. One you REALLY like. (relax, you’re not going to
harm it.)
Find it’s
strongest image. (If there’s none, go on to another poem OR write a prose
explanation of the image behind your poem, and use that.) Forget the context.
Stay focused on the image, and present it to us three times.
One, at least, should be distilled. Like a haiku. (as a haiku, if you wish)
One should find a new point of view.
This
bronze bud vase -
heavy,
ornate, solemn-unlike you…
In this bud vase
pretentious flowers
crowd…
This bronze vase
scoffs.
Forget-Me-Nots
Look, I’ve brought flowers.
I’ll put them right here.
Please, excuse the tears,
this is hard for me.
I’ll put
them right here
in this
bronze bud vase near “Beloved Father”
Please,
excuse the tears.
My eyes
don’t know howto ignore my heart.
This is hard
for me.
Is it for
you, too?Are you even here?
:)
